The Leadville, Colorado & Southern Railroad is a scenic mountain train trip that lasts two and one-half hours. The round-trip leaves from and returns to the old restored 1894 depot, where there is plenty of free parking. The train is open seating with a capacity of 260. We have both open and enclosed cars and you are free to move from car to car. The depot has a gift shop and snacks. On board, the boxcar has food, gifts and bathrooms.

(This online reservation system is for reserving seats in General Seating. There are also 2 Engine seats and 6 Caboose seats available on each ride for an additional cost. The cost for Engine seats is $35.00 one-way in addition to the General Seating cost. The cost for Caboose seats is $25.00 one-way in addition to the General Seating cost. Due to changes in internet and credit card fees our cancellation fee will be charged to anyone who books online or over the phone and pays with their credit card or check in advance. A total of 25% of the entire bill will be charged for the cancellation and refunds will only be given in the form by which they were received (via internet or over the phone with a credit card). We prefer passengers to book over the phone and pay on arrival, which will not result in a cancellation fee. By booking this way, however, your seats will be held and saved for the date and time of booking.
*Note: All special trips including engine, caboose rides and the wildflower tours cannot be booked online, you must call in to the office to make these reservations.
